Approaching Black formed Late 2007 by Freelance Graphic Designer Shannon Riches. And what a first year, with support from Paul van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Eelke Kleijn, M.I.K.E., Flash Brothers to name a few. Having played in bands from an early age, Shannon made the transition from shreding six strings in metal bands, to the more experimental realms of computer based music in the mid to late 90's. The mid 90's UK Garage scene was the turning point, with the sounds of UK Legend Grant Nelson being the first major influence.
